    Default Domain forwarding question

    Hi,

I recently moved one of our several domains (xyz.com) from zimbra to google apps (xyz.com)

Prior to this move, some of my external scripts used SMTP mail.xyz.com to send smtp emails.

After the move, the scripts are sending the SMTP emails to xyz.com domain under zimbra which still exists and we cannot remove it for a certain reason.

How can I forward all incoming emails to xyz.com using SMTP to google apps xyz.com?

I read the wiki article ManagingDomains - Zimbra :: Wiki but was unable to figure out how it would work in this context when the domain name is the same on zimbra as well as on google apps.

Note: My internet emails are working fine to/fro google apps xyz.com accounts. Only SMTP is an issue.

    TIA,
    Dafa

    Welcome to the forums

You could look at modifying the ZCS Postfix transport map. So when a message destined for xyz.com is received is sends it onto google apps. I am not sure whether you can specify multiple hosts within the transport map file though.

I tried the directions on that webpage:

    1. /opt/zimbra/postfix/conf/transportfile
    gmail.com :[smtp.gmail.com]

    2. postmap /opt/zimbra/postfix/conf/transportfile

    3. zmlocalconfig -e postfix_transport_maps=hash:/opt/zimbra/postfix/conf/transportfile,ldap:/opt/zimbra/conf/ldap-transport.cf

    4. zmcontrol stop && zmcontrol start

But I was still not able to forward emails from my zimbra xyz.com domain to google apps xyz.com domain

Default howto setup domain forwarding in ldap

Two ldap entries are needed. First create the domain, then set the transport for the domain.

Example, all mail received on the zimbra host for users at example.com shall be forwarded to othersmtphost.com for delivery.

    Code:
    zmprov cd example.com
    zmprov md example.com zimbraMailTransport smtp:othersmtphost.com
