    Default Question regarding attachments/filtering

Say I set up Zimbra to reject certain attachments. I'll use .exe for my example. If an email addressed to me has an exe attachment, will the entire message be rejected? Or does the attachment just get stripped? Will I get any sort of notice either way?

Looks like the blocked attachment is simply stripped from the message.

Edit: Also there is no notice to the user that an attachment has been blocked. There is also no immediate notice to the admin user that an attachment was blocked but I will see if one is put into the daily summary message.

Ah...looks like I get to take a trip to Bugzilla for an enhancment request! A notice to the receiving user would be nice to have.

Looks like somehow my first test message never got the attachment onto it in the first place...when there is an actual attachment in the message it is simply rejected. The only notification that I can find is the following entry in the /var/log/zimbra.log file:
    Code:
    Aug 29 14:04:05 email postfix/cleanup[25448]: 2FE642E4580: reject: header Content-Type: application/octet-stream; name=test.tst from yx-out-1718.google.com[74.125.44.156]; from=<sender@gmail.com> to=<receiving address> proto=ESMTP helo=<yx-out-1718.google.com>: 5.7.1 Attachment type not allowed. File "test.tst" has the unacceptable extension "tst"
