    Default Insert/update in another DB

    Hi Guys.
I tried to search in forum but can't find a post that could help me.

Well, here we have zimbra server working very good. But I have a internal site (intranet) and i want to use the same information that zimbra provides (login, screename, active and passwd), so users can use the same login and passwd to login in intranet!

Well, I think that could be make when the administrator will isert one user in Zimbra, it will make a insert in zimbra DB, and my db! The same thing when user change his own passwd, the zimbra will change the zimbra db and my db automatically.

We are using MySQL in both zimbra and intranet solutions!

Well, my question is if somenone already have a similar situation. And how can I do this?

    Thanks everyone.

    Welcome to the forums

What version of ZCS are you running ?

You could look at using triggers on your MySQL instance ?

    MySQL :: MySQL 5.0 Reference Manual :: 22 Triggers

Be aware that performing any work like this on ZCS may not be persistent across upgrades.

    Hi Ux...lol

Yeah, Do you think that is a bad idea use Trigger???

I was reading the link that you send and personally I think a great solution to my case, cause I just want some information from the Zimbra user_table (as I post before: login, passwd, active, screenname)

Give me your idea about please!

    Thanks

Wouldn't preauth be a solution for what you're trying to achieve?

Hi Phoenix. I don't think so. Cause my need isn't the redirection or anything like that from the portal to email app. I want simplify the "user life"....lol
I want that he doesn't need achieve in his memory a lots of usernames and passwords, but portal and zimbra will work separetely!
But, thanks anyway. i will read more about preauth!

Hmmm ... Why not just use the ZCS LDAP for Authentication ? as if AD was being used.

    It's a possibility.
But I still think the best solution is trigger, the major problem now is make the trigger work between two databases in different serves. I'm reading now about federated engine!

Word of advise ... Don't over complicate the solution. If all you wish to do is authenticate against the Zimbra database then look at LDAP authentication etc. Remember! Any changes you make to the underlying ZCS structure could be wiped after a upgrade and may no longer work anyway.
