Default LDAP export with clear text userPassword attribute

I am trying to do a LDAP dump. I am able to create the ldif file with all user information but the userPassword field is hashed. I am trying to create a flat file so I can create users on another linux box. I had several issues with Samba/Posix zimlets, and would like to keep the two servers separate.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

no thats the design of password hashing is even if a person got ahold of the hash they wouldn't be able to get the password.

Is this the case if I have the root dn password? How about doing an ldapsearch from the CLI?

Thanks again for the fast reply.

Yes this is still the case. Passwrods are not stored anywhere in plain text, only the hash. Not even an admin can view the password, only reset it to somethign else.
