MySQL vs Mailbox

Hi,

Can anyone have an idea about the MYSQL usage on Zimbra Installations? Is it use large amount of disk space rather than using normal mbox files? Or what will be the space usage ratio between MySql and normal mbox?

Have a read of the following :- ZCS System Architecture - Zimbra :: Wiki. Remember MySQL holds the reference to the mailstore and not the actual data itself.

Thanks for the reply, I have gone through the link but still need some more informations.
Can you please tell me what could be the balance between Data Store (MySql) and Message Store (where actual messages and attachments resides). For eg: for IGB of message store what could be the size of Data Store.

You cannot really calculate though as the messages with the data store could be any size eg. plain text email, email with html, email with attachment.
