[SOLVED] Incorrect number of messages??

I'm looking at a users mailbox via the webmail. She has a number of subfolders under her inbox. When I'm in the main inbox folder, the counter shows "1 - 5 of 9177". What does that 9177 refer to? Total messages in the mailbox? Total in the inbox? Are messages behing hidden somewhere?

I could really use some clarification on this one. Thanks!!

Try doing an empty trash and see if that solves things. Some IMAP clients can leave messages in an almost-deleted state; the Empty Trash cleans up after them.

Actually, I'd rather GET those messages. Any suggestions? I suppose I could find a copy of Office 2000 and connect to the Outlook in that to unhide the messages.

I managed to get the emails that had been marked for deletion.

In Zimbra Admin, I did a view mail on the restored account. I then shared the folders that I needed messages from. The folders in question only showed (for example) 15 messages, but the counter would show "1 - 15 of 2113". The other messages did not show in the webmail.
From there I found a computer with Outlook 2000 on it. I set up my email account in Outlook 2000 and viewed the folders I'd shared from the restored account. Sure enough, the "missing" 2100 emails had been marked for deletion and were not able to be viewed in Office 2003 or the Zimbra webmail.

A pertty roundabout way to be able to get those "missing" emails, but at least I got them!
