Default Zimbra update: 4.5.6 => 5.0.8

hi,

I have a Zimbra 4.5.6. What is the recommended method to update? . I want to update this to the latest release of Zimbra. Step by step over Zimbra releases (4.5.6 => 4.5.7 => ..... => 5.0.8) or update with 5.0.8 directly?

You should upgrade to 4.5.11 then upgrade to 5.0.8, obviously take a full backup before each step and make sure the system works before doing the next upgrade. This has been covered in the forums, please search for any details that may trip you up. You should also read the Release Notes for each version before doing the upgrades.

t might help if you update your profile with the output from 'zmcontrol -v' and say which operating system you're using.

OK. If I understand ....

4.5.6 => 4.5.7
4.5.7 => 4.5.8
4.5.8 => 4.5.9
4.5.9 => 4.5.10
4.5.10 => 4.5.11
4.5.11 => 5.0.8

It is correct?

Thank you very much!

No, you don't need to do incremental updates just 4.5.6 to 4.5.11 then to 5.0.8

I am planning on the same upgrade next week but starting at 4.5.7. Is there any need on testing anything after the upgrade to 4.5.11 before going on to 5.0.8?

Also, I found the archive for the older versions but I didn't see where the release notes were for them. I could have over looked them but was wanting to look over the release notes for 4.5.11 first. Thanks.

UPDATE: NEVER MIND. I FOUND IT

After the upgrade to 4.5.11 I'd make sure all the services come up, mail gets sent and received and any other things you want to check then backup and upgrade to 5.0.8
