Default Accessing Zimbra administration console from another computer

Hi,

I am quite new to both linux and zimbra.

I have managed to install zimbra on linux 4.0 and now i can send and recieve emails.

I want to connect to the administration console from a remote pc but i am not able to. I tried the following url
https://x.x.x.x:7071

I also tried it with using hostname aswell, but no luck

Could anyone please advice me on this

Thanks
T

I'd advise you to post what happened when you tried to get to that URL. Connection refused, timeout, explosion, strange smells, what?

Also, can you get to the web console? What does zmcontrol status return?

Search the forums and the wiki for the logs to check for errors.

You're sure you've got https at the beginning, and 7071 at the end, right?

Can you telnet to port 7071?

Firewall running?

Let's just pretend that the firewall wasn't the problem (as I've got mine completely open, and I CAN telnet to hostname 7071) and continue this thread.
When I try to go to https://hostname:7071, Firefox just sits there loading the page forever with no error messages.
Now what do I try?

How about not adding posts to a thread that's three years old, you should have started a new thread with some useful information in it.

How about some idea of operating system, Zimbra release and version, what have you tried to resolve this problem, have you looked at the other threads in the forum on this problem, is SElinux or AppArmor enabled on your system, do you have valid A & MX records, is your /etc/hosts file correct, are there any errors in the log files?
