[SOLVED] Out of Office Messages & Forwarding

Hello all,

We are having a problem with our vacation messages. All our Zimbra users are in a separate domain (zimbra.ourdomain.edu), though they all have forwarding addreses (such that mail sent to user@ourdomain.edu is forwarded to user@zimbra.ourdomain.edu.

When a user sets their out of office message, it seems to only generate a message if the user is e-mailed directly (user@zimbra.ourdomain.edu) and not if they e-mail user@ourdomain.edu.

The message is being forwarded correctly, Zimbra is just not sending the out of office reply if the message has been forwarded.

Is there any way to fix this (either to change how Zimbra is responding to out of office messages) or to change the way I'm redirecting mail from our primary (non-zimbra) mail server?

Found the solution:

zmprov ma user zimbraPrefOutOfOfficeDirectAddress user@ourdomain.edu

where the first 'user' is the local zimbra user. This seems to work without a problem. I'll just put it in my account creation scripts.

There seem to be a LOT of undocumented 'zmprov' options. Is there a complete list anywhere of what they all do that I'm missing?

When we add a command it goes into zmprov -h (don't forget about zmmailbox -h) combine that with looking at the contents of /opt/zimbra/conf/attrs/zimbra-attrs.xml which contains short descriptions of what the LDAP attributes do is pretty useful.

Thank you Mike - that zimbra-attrs.xml file is a great resource for when its not shown elsewhere. I didn't know about that before!

And I will add some of this stuff to the Wiki when I get a chance as well.
