Default Inbox unread count wrong

I'm running Zimbra 5.0.0_RC1_1538.DEBIAN4.0 and have a problem with one account (mine!) where the unread count on Inbox is persistently 1 greater than the actual count. "Mark all as read" leaves the unread count at 1.

This is not an Ajax problem -- Squirrelmail running over the same imap service reports the same count.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Ross

You shouldn't be running the RC1 version, upgrade to a current GA release (currently 5.0.7).

Default Inbox unread message count still off by 1

OK, so now that there's a Debian 5.0 AMD64 release, I've upgraded to that -- the package is zcs-6.0.1_GA_1816.DEBIAN5_64.20090911184141.tgz

My Inbox unread message count is still greater by 1 than the true count.

Emptying Trash [ see K-State Zimbra tips and tricks ] didn't fix it.

Connecting through imap with Thunderbird and compacting Inbox didn't fix it.

Any other suggestions?

Re-index the mailbox from the Admin GUI.

No, it's mine!
I have considered creating a temporary account, copying the 0.9GB of mail to it with imapsync, expunging and recreating the affected account, and imapsyncing the mail bac. I'm looking for a less indirect solution if anybody has one.
Ideal would be something like:
zmmailbox . . . setUnreadcount=0
but I can't find any such command.

Expunge means to remove messages marked as deleted (from an IMAP account) it's also known as 'compact' the folder(s).

Oh, sorry -- yes I've tried that (compact with Thunderbird as others have described). Didn't fix it.

Do you have any sub-folders of the Inbox or are they all in the single folder ?
