I am running Zimbra Network Edition 5.0.7 and I want to take the backups that are run by Zimbra stored in /opt/zimbra/backup and move to an FTP site. Should I just tar the whole backup directory and FTP it off or is there a better way to do this?

I use rsync to sync my backup dir on my Zimbra box to another server. Rsync will just copy changes. It's probably a lot better way to go.
Release 6.0.2_GA_1912.UBUNTU8_64 UBUNTU8_64 NETWORK edition + Mobile Option

Unfortunately at this point the FTP is all I have to use. I was asking more if doing a tar of the backup directory is the best way or if there is a better way to capture the backups.
