Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere, but couldn't find anything easily...
For AD integration, I need to change the mail account name for some users. I see that In the Admin console, I can just type in a new name in the Account Name field of on Manage Accounts/General Tab, and click save.
Beyond doing this, are there further steps or ramifications related to changing this value?

Two things I'd suggest a) try it on a new test account to see what the ramifications are - there should be none; b) make a backup of the individual accounts before you change the name - just to be safe.
