Default [SOLVED] Renamed domain name is not working.

Using zcs 5.0.5 open source edition.

After renaming zimbra domain name, my webmail admin console is not working.
It is giving me login console, but by giving User Name & Password,It is not showing busy mouse cursor on the screen.

What to do?

All zimbra services are running fine.

Host webmail.renovau.co.in
antispam Running
antivirus Running
imapproxy Running
ldap Running
logger Running
mailbox Running
mta Running
snmp Running
spell Running
stats Running
I have changed my domain name from webmail.renovau.net to webmail.renovau.co.in

I don't know exactly what is the reason why it is not working. I modified each n every file as per zimbra forum. Please help me out.

I don't know if this is exactly your problem, but you might try logging in w/ admin@webmail.renovau.co.in

I had a similar problem when I renamed my domain, and it turned out to be that the default domain was still set to the old name. So if you just specify admin for the login, it tries to use admin@olddomain.com. After you login, you will be able to set your default domain from the admin panel. There should be a command-line setting you can modify, but I don't know what that is off-hand.

I my case, I was actually getting an authentication error, so this may not solve your issue. But it may be something you'll need to address anyway

Not sure what you mean by busy cursor, but if it is indeed what alkexkelly is referring to it's:
zmprov mcf zimbraDefaultDomainName webmail.renovau.co.in

The default login domain isn't touched on renameDomain command because you can have hundreds of domains and might still want another as the default (though virtual hosts solve this). It would be a good RFE, but the command wasn't originally built to parse the zimbraDefaultDomainName LDAP attribute against all the domain names to see if that's the one changing (or another approach would be to use the logic 'if only one domain than make sure to update the Defualt login domain'). Notebooks can have domain level wiki's though so there is: Bug 25873 - renameDomain command breaks Documents which would be an easy update.

Dear mmorse,

By executing the command as suggested by you,I can now login into my zimbra admin console. Below is the command.

zmprov mcf zimbraDefaultDomainName webmail.renovau.co.in

But,still I am unable to login into user console by typing

http://webmail.renovau.co.in

Below is my basic settings.

After renaming the domain, the DNS settings for a new domain is still pending. ie.

A entry & MX entry on another public DNS is still having my old domain name, which is webmail.renovau.net

But,I can access my new "webmail.renovau.co.in" admin console in a browser by typing IP Address.

This is the address :- https://58.68.123.55:7071/zimbraAdmin
But, http://58.68.123.55 is not working, giving me a message that "This page Can Not Be Displayed"

Previously,I configured my zimbra mail server onto "http" by typing "zmtlctl http" command.

Please Respond what to do.

Nishith.

Hello,

I have changed my domain & I am geting login page also.

Now, I m getting authentication error, while trying to login into zimbra admin panel.

Note :- All zmcontrol services are workig fine. ( LDAP also)

Also the zimbra mail user list hasn't been updated. My domain name is renovau.co.in & user name syntax is

zmprov gaa -v | grep '# name'
# name admin@webmail.renovau.co.in

The message is " Authentication Failed", for admin cnosole as well as for normal mail user.

By typing below command,I didn't find any LDAP process.
ldapsearch -x | grep renovau.co.in
ldap_bind: Can't contact LDAP server (-1)

Tell me your experience regarding this error & how did you fix it.

Please stop double posting! You have this thread open already and the issues are linked. As you have changed your domain name etc we need to go through the whole DNS checking process again. So please post
Code:
cat /etc/hosts
cat /etc/resolv.conf
dig _domain_ mx
dig _server_fqdn_
host `hostname` <- note backticks and not double quotes
