I got attacked over the weekend and I am trying to purge the queues through the Admin console. I keep getting a server error. Is there a way to do this from command line. I want to kill them all!
I get this error when trying to delete a large number of messages stored in the queues
Message: system failure: exception occurred performing queue action
Error code: service.FAILURE
Method: ZmCsfeCommand.prototype.invoke
Details:soap:Receiver
Ok I now have them all in the HOLD Queue...I just need to purge them.
The hold queue is in /opt/zimbra/data/postfix/spool/hold. I think it may be as simple as stopping Zimbra and removing the files in that directory. I did this once, but it was back when I was just testing Zimbra. As best as I can remember there were no issues doing this, but I don't want to steer you in the wrong direction on a live system. Perhaps a backup prior to doing this would be a good idea.
cd /opt/zimbra/postfix/sbin
./postsuper -d ALL hold

Just make sure you have 'hold' on there... '-d ALL' alone does delete mail in any queue.![]()
