    Default Building a spam trap ?

    Hi all,

    On another hosting account at a provider I have a 'special' email address that basically stores all email to that account in /dev/null.

    For practial purposes I want the following:
    1) A catch-all account (setup just fine).
    2) And catch and junk the email sent to spam@example.com

    The oply option I found that perhaps could do this is to create a distribution list called spam with absolutely no members.

    The expected effect: the account is known so it shouldn't be sent to the catch all and the email is sent to all the users on the distribution list (none).

    The actual effect: The email is sent to the catch all account.

    I have two questions:
    Is this a bug or intended behaviour ?
    How can I create such a /dev/null account ?

    The distro list resolves to no user's so it goes to the catch-all as a fallback.

    We don't have the notion of /dev/null but if you just run fetchmail you can purge that mailbox on some cron interval.

    I've succesfully created a '/dev/null' account as follows:
    1) Create a normal user account called spam@example.com
    2) Create a mail filter that if an email is over 1 Byte it is discarded.

    why not send the messages to the zimbraSpamIsSpamAccount (zmprov gacf | grep Spam)? are you not using spam assassin?
