4.5.11 MTA will not start: saslauthd failed to initialize mechanism zimbra

Hi,

After a power failure over the weekend, one of my Zimbra servers had major filesystem issues. I booted in rescue mode, e2fsck'd the root filesystem (actually an LVM2 logical volume) and it found and fixed quite a few errors.

This host is the LDAP slave and actually there are no active user accounts on it right now so I'm not sweating it, but I am concerned that I can't get the MTA to start. All other zimbra services appear to be running:

zmsaslauthdctl failed to start

I saw elsewhere that the usual fix for the zmsaslauthdctl problem is to set the zimbraMtaAuthHost. I tried setting this to the LDAP master server (which is working fine) but it still did not work; same error. Here is the output of zmprov getServer zoe.my.university.edu | grep Auth:

I've verified that Tomcat is listening on https. Help???
