I have to ask, because I'm not sure it's obvious in this thread on older 4.5 methods covering server.xml and login.jsp tweaks - did you actually run the following command?

Code:
su - zimbra
zmtlsctl redirect
zmcontrol stop
zmcontrol start
Other options would be 'mixed' (force https just for login) or 'both' or stop listening on http by setting it to 'https'. And if you somehow changed it: zmprov ms `zmhostname` zimbraMailSSLPort 443 (different than zimbraAdminPort 7071)

Thanks for responding. If it wasn't included in the installation instructions, I didn't do it

Here's what got user connections to work with SSL:

su - zimbra
zmtlsctl both
zmcontrol stop
zmcontrol start

At this point I don't care about forcing https but I will want to do that before we go into production. I'm having a few other problems (but nothing life-threatening) so I want to keep the installation as out-of-the-box as possible until all of these other issues get resolved.

Is zmtlsctl documented anywhere?

I noticed that running the above commands caused echo in teraterm to quit with no obvious way to reset it. Had to completely exit my SSH connection

Thanks very much for the info! I'll give all of it a closer look once I get everything working and people off my back wanting to know if they can use it yet.

Thanks! That answers my man page question. For all of the features in Zimbra, the management tools seem to be very straightforward. It's mostly knowing where to go to find teh info you want. Again, thanks much!

Sure, it's in the Administrators Guide. Login to the Admin Console > Help Desk link (on the upper right corner) > Administrators Guide.

That will start the pdf download and you are done.

If the system isn't running, the guide is available on the Zimbra host in the following directory:

/opt/zimbra/jetty/webapps/zimbraAdmin/help/en_US/admin/pdf

Hope that helps,
Mark

Thanks much from the "other Portland"
I'm originally from Lebanon, New Hampshire.
I did download and look over the admin manual before I even downloaded Zimbra. And thanks for the bugzilla entry.

Glad we could help!

Bummer you are so far away from the "real" Portland!

All the best,
Mark
