    Default Increasing spam

I run Zimbra 5.0.5 on Ubuntu 6.06 LTS server for 2 months now. Before, I received a lot of spam on various accounts. With the change to Zimbra, most of the spam now is filtered correctly. In the last 2-3 weeks however, I notice more spam not being filtered again.

I expect that there must be rules updates to reflect the latest virus patterns. Where can I check if these updates are done?

Virus definitions automagically get updated. If you are seeing a high increase then you should look at tuning your installation. Have a read of Improving Anti-spam system - Zimbra :: Wiki and also take a look at Phishing and Scam Signatures for ClamAV.

Default Phishing signatures (where do I put them)

Where do I put the phishing signatures from sanesecurity. Apparently I'm not doing it right since the test emails they suggest still get through. Running 5.06 here and I put them in /opt/zimbra/clamav/db

Be sure and analyze the spam score headers of messages that are getting through. They'll tell you a great deal about what's being missed and why. If you like, strip off the identifiers and post a header for us. A lot of the recommendations in the links uxbod posted above are the things we've all found to work, though, so take a good long look at that wiki. Anything that doesn't make sense, holler and we'll help you think it thru.
    Cheers,

    Dan
