virtual host

I am having difficulty getting this to work.

I have a domain (let's call it foo.com).

So I setup a subdomain to point to my server: zimbra.foo.com

This points to my DynamicDNS account which then points to my server at home.

Everything is working well, email sending and recieving.

I tried adding foo.com to my virtual host list for the domain foo.com (seems like I shouldn't need that).

But I still need to log in with fully qualified account names like scott@foo.com.

I was assuming that this would work by allowing be just to use the account name "scott" since I am getting to the server through zimbra.foo.com

What am I missing?

Did you set it to foo.com or zimbra.foo.com?

zmprov gd foo.com | grep zimbraVirtualHostname

it is set to foo.com

And you're browsing to zimbra.foo.com....

So I setup a subdomain to point to my server: zimbra.foo.com

add another virtual host zimbra.foo.com & you should be set
(removing foo.com won't take effect till next zimbra restart)
OR
edit the virtual host foo.com > zimbra.foo.com & restart zimbra

dig any zimbra.foo.com (you should have an A record from dyndns.org pointing to your current IP)
