Default Ldap External auth not working

Hi all.

I've setup a zimbra installation and configured with ldap external auth. When configuring external ldap auth, i get everything fine and zimbra successfully connects with the ldap server.

I then create an account for a user that exists in the ldap with the following comand:

[zimbra@mail ~]$ zmprov ca user@domain.com crypt{}

But i trie to login with that user, i can't... i get user or password incorrect!

i'm doing something wrong?

I know that with the ldap external auth, i need to create the users in the zimbra server, but i cant get them to login

Cheers,

Bruno

We use the following to create an account that works external LDAP:

zmprov ca ldap-userid@ourdomain.edu.au "" cn "user's full name" displayName "user's full name" givenName "user's first name" sn "user's family name"
