Default New IE6 bug in 5.06 HTML version?

I have a group of users who are still on Win2k with IE6. Since they moved to Zimbra, I asked them to use the HTML version of the client if they had any speed issues. Firefox is installed on a few workstations but, it is not the solution. They are moving to Vista currently but, it's an 8 location network with over 100 users. This is not happening overnight and they are not going to install Firefox on each workstation. Until I upgraded to 5.06, I had no problems with my users and this workaround. However, since upgrading to 5.06, all of my users are complaining that the HTML version no longer works to compose an email. You see, they can type in every box EXCEPT the message body. You click in the body and the cursor goes away. You can't tab into it. You can only paste something there. As of now, users that are running 800x600 (Believe it or not, I have a few) are forced to type in notepad and paste their email into the body because of the forced HTML at that resolution. Users that run a higher resolution have the option of using AJAX but, it can be unbearably slow using IE6. This is unacceptable. Can anybody else verify this as a bug on their system? Thanks.

By that we know you're talking about the standard client, but I don't know if you're composing in HTML mode or TEXT mode?
Bug 28361 - HTML Client : can't type in msg body using IE & text mode (I can repo that on IE7.)

So if that's what you're hitting:
A) If they're set to Text mode change them to HTML compose.
OR
B) If they're aliment on text mode, setup a signature, then make sure it's set to include that in the persona (accounts tab).

For the Advanced client we test IE6SP2 as listed in the system requirements, but with Win2k well that's not possible if there's no IE6SP2. Bug 28361 simply sprung up for the Standard client, hope that's what you're hitting as there's 2 quick workarounds.

Excellent! The COS for this customer is set to compose in text mode. Switching to HTML mode works however, they get a security dialog from IE each time they select compose now. They are connecting to the server via HTTPS but, there seems to be some code being sent via HTTP when composing in HTML mode. The mesage they receive is "This page contains both secure and nonsecure items. Do you want to display the nonsecure items? Yes/No/More Info". I'll do some digging to see if there is something I can do to remedy this but, I just wanted to say thanks for the HTML tip!

How about the sig trick:
B) If they're aliment on text mode, setup a signature, then make sure it's set to include that in the persona (accounts tab).

Hm, I'll have to look into that.

Guess your version doesn't have an ignore so you could:
Step 1: Go to Tools > Internet Options
Step 2: Select the "Security" Tab and then click on the "Custom Level" button
Step 3: Scroll down until you see the option: "Display mixed content". Sect the option "Enable"
Step 4: Click Ok, Then you will get a "Security Warning" pop-up. Click Yes

Yes, the sig trick works as well and does not suffer from the mixed content warning message. The problem with the sig trick is that I can't set that through COS for an entire group of users, they have to do that on their own. Thanks again for your help!
