Can't share mailbox folders accross multiple mailbox servers?

Hi,

am I right that it's not possible to share mailboxes across multiple mailbox servers?

When I push my account to a second mailbox server, I cannot access folders shared by users still living on the first server.

When I connect via IMAP (using the proxy) I get a complete folder list, but cannot access the shared folders, the error message is 'cannot open mailbox on other server'.

Is this by design or did I miss something?

This does not include a solution for sharing Folders across multiple mailbox servers, if I interpret the comment to this bug correctly?

The main problem I have is not 'sharing', but 'sharing across multiple mailbox servers'. And both through IMAP and Webinterface.
