Default mail relaying through zimbra

Hi

i had install one zimbra server and using as smtp-relay server,

i had one other linux machine, having default mailserver sendmail and client as mutt or mail. I had add ip of these linux machine, to my zimbra server in postconf mynetworks.

Now,

when i do telnet from linux machine to smtp server on port 25, and send mail to other domain, it successfully relay the mail to the internet.

But,

when i send mail via mutt or mail, it does not able to send.

i had seen in /var/log/maillog it is showing connect is reset by mail.yahoo.com or mail.gmail.com

In resolve.conf of the linux machine
follwing are the entry

nameserver smtpserverip
nameserver primarydnsserverip
nameserver secondaydnsserverip

what will be the problem????

Regards,
chandu

Check for Postfix error messages in /var/log/zimbra.log to see why it would not accept the email.

Sorry, perhaps I have misunderstood, so is your setup as follows :-

Mutt -> Sendmail -> Zimbra (relay) -> External MTAs

Okay, you need to define a smart host in your Sendmail configuration then. Take a look at /etc/mail/sendmail.cf and you should find something like
Code:
# Relay all non-local mail to the "Smart" relay host (DS) via smtp: #
# #
# This macro is optional. If you wish to send all non-local mail #
# to a smart relay via SMTP just set macro S (DS) to the name of the #
# smart relay. If this macro is not set, then all mail addresses to #
# a non-local user will be send to the relay. #
#
# "Smart" relay host (may be null)
DS
so to relay any external email through your ZCS server just use
Code:
DSfqdn.myzimbra.server
and then restart Sendmail.
