Trouble with HTML(basic) client with typing in body

I have a couple of users that use the HTML client that are having trouble where you cannot type into the body of a new message until after you copy/paste some text into it. One user with IE6 and another with IE7... I tried clearing the the cache/Temporary Internet Files, but that did not fix it. Any ideas? I saw where some other people had a problem like this, but I didn't see where anybody posted a fix.

I haven't seen a fix yet, and Zimbra keeps closing the bug I opened.

Can you update us on what you've found?

I haven't found anything. I ended up switching the user to the advanced client. Although, it would be nice if they could go back to the basic client since they are connecting via dial-up.

An update, I have another user that ran into this problem too. I'm pretty sure it's something that broke with my 5.0.5 update. It's weird.

I also noticed this today with mozilla firefox (2.0.0.14) and just switched the user to advanced as he was in the office and had high speed. He could not enter text in the body of a new message when I was watching him and his first complaint was he could not reply to an email.

I didn't open a bug. I was hoping somebody would have posted a fix or workaround on here, but I guess nobody has found one.

Sorry, but we are still running 5.0.2. I haven't seen this problem at all until I went to FireFox 4 Beta, and we've been running 5.0.2 since the week it came out.

Shot in dark but: Bug 28361 - HTML Client : can't type in msg body using IE & text mode

If that's what you're hitting in the standard client with IE:
A) If they're set to Text mode change them to HTML compose.
OR
B) If they're aliment on text mode, setup a signature, then make sure it's set to include that in the persona (accounts tab). - sounds strange but it works.
