Default Zimbra crontab on cluster standby

I have a 2-node active/passive Red Hat cluster of Zimbra 5.05 mailbox servers. When I installed Zimbra, it created a zimbra crontab on both nodes. This makes sense because we want the Zimbra cron jobs to run when the standby node takes over. But they are running all the time, and failing because /opt/zimbra is not mounted on the standby, and sending me thousands of e-mails indicating this. To temporarily fix this, I have added "> /dev/null 2>&1" to the end of all the job commands in the Zimbra crontab. Is this safe? Will it get auto-overwritten when I restart Zimbra? Is there a better way to deal with this situation?

You can safely remove the crontab on the standby node. During a failover, the crontab is loaded on the new node from a saved copy on the SAN.

Thanks...I have removed the zimbra crontab from our standby node. Is there any way to do this more elegantly, so the crontab will only exist on the currently-active node? It seems like if the zimbra service start scripts are capable of loading the crontab when it does not exist, they should be capable of clearing it on service shutdown...
