Question Select address to display in GAL

Hi, accounts in my Zimbra 5.0.5 are created as for instance 'gloker@domain.com' for 'Garry Loker' but his primary address is supposed to be 'garry.loker@domain.com'. The Canonical Address is set to the full-name address and new emails come from it just fine. The only problem is with Address Book where users are displayed with the short-name addresses. I.e. for Garry it's gloker@domain.com instead of the desired garry.loker@domain.com. Is there any way to set the preferred address that is to be displayed in GAL?

Thanks!

Default Does anyone have a suggestion?

I, also, need to have the canonical address show up in the GAL. Is this even possible in Zimbra?

It sounds like you're referring to Bug 21188 - autocomplete Canonical address do not take precedence - which was marked as a dupe. Apparently the 'main' bug Bug 33722 - deprecate canonical address describes what the "canonical address" is.

I found a way to have GAL mail address shown as wanted. Please look at this thread : [SOLVED] Issue with email address returned by a search in the GAL...

I don't know if it's the good way to go, but it works for me.
