Configure GAL - From External to Both

Hi all,

When I setup my zimbra box, I configured the GAL to use our Active Directory domain. I would now like to change this setting to "both" but just want to be sure before I pull the trigger.

Basically what is happening is that when I create a new user account in AD, it does not show up in the GAL (however, older accounts that were created when we were running Exchange do show up). I've checked every thing I can think of = no joy.

If I set the GAL to both (internal and external) wouldn't I get duplicate responses? In other words, if I do a search for jsmith - and jsmith exists both in AD and on the Zimbra box - wouldn't I get two responses?
