Default Compose new mail on webclient using html format

We have been using Zimbra for a year now without any problems.
Recently we bought two new DELL desktop for our office.
When the user tries to compose a new mail it cannot place the cursor on the text area.
If the same user tries another workstation is works fine.
This workstation are 2 mo. old. They came with IE6 and are XP PRO. I have ran all the updates from MS update so IE7 is now the main browser version.
I have install back IE6 and the result is the same. remove all the add-ons same result. reset browser to default settings ,same result.
Is there some here that have a clue if what to do to correct this strange behaivor.
My shop is a windows shop all XP PRO nothing complicated. Zimbra server is a hosted-dedicated-server still on version 4.10 OS.

    All inputs are welcome.

    Can you provide more details:

    - When you say "place the cursor" do you mean you just cannot see the blinking cursor in the textarea or user cannot type at all?
    - Are you trying to compose in HTML? What happens if you try to switch to Text mode?
    - Do you see a small error icon in the status bar? If so, double click on it and post what it says.
    - Any chance you can try to repro this using Firefox (which is better at giving more descriptive error messages).

-What I mean is that the user cannot type nothing in the textarea.
This happens while composing using html, if using Text mode then it works.
-We install Firefox on this machine and tried to compose a new mail, and we got the same rexult, cannot type on the Textarea.
-And also No error comes on the the status bar of the browser.

I get this sometimes, logging out and back in cures it for a while. I switch between HTML and text cause I'm testing. Haven't had the problem since 5.0.5 though.

I dont think is Zimbra server/version related.
    Nor the user preferences setup.
Any user that tries this pc (this is a brand new optiplex) cannot type a new mail on the Textarea.
Have ran all updates from MS. Upgraded to IE7. downgraded to IE6. installed Firefox 2.0 and all reproduce the same result.

There's another thread where this was brought up, with no specific resolution.

I just had this reported to me by one IE7 user, but Firefox works for him. His way of reporting the problem was to angrily accuse us of removing IE compatibility with the 5.0.5 update.

I would not rule out spyware of some kind.

This is a total shot in the dark, but have you checked if the working/nonworking workstations have the same version of Java? I have seen weird things crop up with other Java apps when a version change happens.

Just to add more information to the investigation you might also see if this happens in both the Advanced(Ajax) and Standard(HTML) web clients.
    Cheers,

    Dan

What happens if you go to compose, switch to "Text" mode and then switch back to "HTML" - can you then type in the textarea?

    Default Sorry to chime in

Sorry to chime in, but I've confirmed this is the exact same behavior I'm seeing. I opened bug #27439 because I believed it to be an issue with Firefox 3.0 Beta 4 & 5.

The bug was closed as "Works for Me", but now that another user is seeing the issue, and I've seen it on two different systems I believe it warranted being reopened.

    Doug
