Default Adding new disk for message store

    Dear all,
we are facing a problem as we are running out of space on our production server. (4 x 146GB SAS RAID 0+1)

Can we add a new disk adding a new message store as primary ?
Or should we define it as secondary and use it only for HSM?

The new disks are same 4*146GB SAS RAID 0+1.

Doese zimbra have any logic for using multiple message stores or is is just possible to have a primary and a secondary ?

    Thanks to all,

    Mark

    Hey Djingo,
You could try created a secondary store, and then run HSM to move all email X (
30/60/90) days old to the secondary store. This would probably clear up a significant amount of data for you on your primary store.

Thanbk you for the quick reply

    Is this procedure correct :

add new disks to the server and configure the raid 0+1 on the new set
mount the space in my os
create a simlink for example /opt/zimbra/hsm
configure the web settings for the hsm store
    run the hsm session

    Is this correct ?

    Thank you for the support

i would do everything but the symlink part.
setup the drives, go into the zimbra admin console, tell it about your secondary storage, go configure HSM to run on messages 60+ days out, then run HSM from the admin console or the command line. i believe that should work, but i haven't done something like this yet.

Did the above procedure work without issue? Are the steps above correct -- or what should be done differently?

    Thank you in advance.
