Default fatal: Queue report unavailable - mail system is down

I've got a problem that has happened twice now. I come into work and the server doesn't send or receive mail, but I can log into the web interface.

/var/log/zimbra.log has this in it:
Code:
Apr 22 06:26:00 mail postfix/postqueue[11570]: fatal: Queue report unavailable - mail system is down
A "zmcontrol status" shows everything running. So to get it back up I just stop and start it, then everything is fine.

I googled a bit and took a look at my catalina.out in tomcat. There are some errors that have got to do with it. The log is attached.

Also every night I stop zimbra, backup, and then start it again.

It has 3 gigs of RAM. Just Zimbra runs on this except for a couple backups each night which takes a bunch of RAM because it compresses. The graph is the RAM usage for a week. You can see each night when it runs the backups.

Code:
admin@mail:~$ free -m

Release 5.0.4_GA_2101.UBUNTU6 UBUNTU6 FOSS edition

Default Queue report unavailable - mail system is down

I've got the same problem. I come into work and the server doesn't send or receive mail, but I can log into the web interface.

/var/log/zimbra.log has this in it:
Code:

Apr 22 06:26:00 mail postfix/postqueue[11570]: fatal: Queue report unavailable - mail system is down

/var/log/messages, I found this strange log:

Oct 1 03:51:30 mail shutdown: shutting down for system halt

Oct 1 03:51:31 mail su(pam_unix)[30325]: session opened for user zimbra by (uid=0)

A "zmcontrol status" shows everything running. So to get it back up I just stop and start it, then everything is fine.

Have the same problem with 5.0.7_GA_2444.RHEL4. We don't have any information for further troubleshooting.
