Default Spam Filter Configuration - Block NON-US Domains

How do I setup zimbra to just automatically block all domains other than ".com" , ".net", and ".edu"?

It seems that my maillog is full of connect tries from domains outside of the US. I figure that if I can just dump all connections or mail requests from domains outside of the US, my spam problem will decrease a little.

    Your thoughts?

    Thanks to the forum!

Are you wishing to block the domain directly, or by checking the RDNS to see where it is from. Remember, domain names can be spoofed so may not reduce the SPAM/connections by large amounts. You could always have a read of Improving Anti-spam system - Zimbra :: Wiki and look at implementing whitelisting.

    Default Read the Wiki

I read the Wiki and implemented almost all of the items there. It helped a LOT! I was just reading my Maillog file and found a lot of connections from domains outside of the US. I was just thinking that it would kill off a little more spam if I could just accept mail from only .com, .net., and .edu domains.

My company never does any business outside of the US. They are a radio station group located in California.

I know that domains can be spoofed, but would it be better to not accept any e-mail in any other language than english and only accept from US domains?

Does this help anyone else, or should I just keep adjusting my kill and tag ratios?

Just looking for an opinion. Thanks a bunch!
