Default hostname, split dns with several domains, deferred msgs

(just lost my whole post due to a login/logout hiccup).

Just installed ZCS NE 5.0.4 on ubuntu 6.x LTS...
Split DNS, seems right, but I'm getting a handful of deferred msgs, and a `hostname` "not found" error.
Where do I put the second domain name in the split DNS ?

dig, and host results follow.
local IP 10.0.0.1 servername "SMTP", domains creativelights.com,
(this is the main name we want->)creative-lighting.com
Any help as to where to look would be appreciated. Thanks, Rick

Thanks, phoenix-
It was:
tuser@smtp:~$ cat /etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost smtp

# The following lines are desirable for IPv6 capable hosts
::1 ip6-localhost ip6-loopback
fe00::0 ip6-localnet
ff00::0 ip6-mcastprefix
ff02::1 ip6-allnodes
ff02::2 ip6-allrouters
ff02::3 ip6-allhosts
10.0.0.1 smtp.creativelights.com smtp
tuser@smtp:~$
(but I just added a last line:
10.0.0.1 smtp.creative-lighting.com smtp

I also added a new zone file.Too many changes?
Restarted BIND9, should I see something change?

tuser@smtp:~$ cat /etc/bind/db.creative-lighting.com
;
; BIND data file for creative-lighting.com
;
$TTL 604800
@ IN SOA smtp.creative-lighting.com. admin.creative-lighting.com. (
040413 ; Serial
604800 ; Refresh
86400 ; Retry
2419200 ; Expire
604800 ) ; Negative Cache TTL
;
@ IN NS smtp
IN MX 10 smtp
IN A 10.0.0.1
smtp IN A 10.0.0.1
tuser@smtp:~$

The only lines you need in the hosts file are these:

Code:
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
10.0.0.1 smtp.creativelights.com smtp
I'm assuming that smtp is the name of your server and you also don't need the ipv6 lines in there but they shouldn't cause any problems.

smtp is the name of server.
I #'ed the lines.
I also saw this on the 127.0.0.1 line:
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost smtp
and removed that from the end.
Leaving:
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
Restarted BIND

so far, still (now a few more) deferreds in queue.
(help...the only sender is the company owner, and we need to get this live by morning

what about the public service host name in "domains" the Admin UI?
It appears to be blank by default.
I just added the FQDN in that field, one for each of the domains
smtp.creativelights.com, and smtp.creative-lighting.com.
topped and started MTA in the services panel by unticking&saving, then ticking and saving.

Should I flush the queue? (I have not.) or Restart the whole Linux box?
thanks...!

Found some settings in internal DNS that needed fixing, and my external DNS had a typo, too.
Fixed DNS, rebooted server, and deferred queue went.
Thanks!
rick

(now I need to track down issue with IMAP timeouts....

Default IMAP connection times out

Fresh install ZCS 5.0.4 NE, ubuntu 6.0x LTS.

Where should I look to find cause of IMAP connection timing out and being refused? (standard port, non-ssl)
Trying Thunderbird and Outlook2003 (on WindowsXP).
Both worked fine until late in day Sunday.
Made some changes in DNS, but i'm pretty sure the IMAP was working after those changes.
Web client fine. Do not use POP here.
Thanks,
rick

Is this the only place to get pre-sales support for setting up Network Edition so it works for the Trial?
I had Open Source Version working fine on FC5...this is totally fresh install, migrating nessages back via IMAP from temporary host.

What changes did you make to DNS? Are you behind a NAT router and do you have a Split DNS set-up? What does the following show (run on the Zimbra server):

Code:
host `hostname` <-- use backticks not single quotes
dig yourdomain.com mx
dig yourdomain.com any
and post the results.

You can also have a look in the log files and see what errors are being reported.

If you have a trial installation of Zimbra you can get help for the sixty-days of the trial form support@zimbra.com if you're having problems.
