I agreed to post the solution here once we had it...
The solution for us was seven steps:
- Zimbra support extracted our private key for us (commercial.key); the Java tool referenced in various forum posts would not run on our installation.
- Clear the contents of the /opt/zimbra/ssl/zimbra/commercial directory except for the commercial.key
- Create a cert directory /root/certs
- Save the GoDaddy-supplied viognier.reliablenetworks.com.crt as commercial.crt and place it in the /root/certs directory
- Execute these two commands to deploy the cert:
- cd /root/certs
- /opt/zimbra/bin/zmcertmgr deploycrt comm commercial.crt commercial_ca.crt
