Default Enable RSS?

Hey,

I saw some comments floating around about getting an rss feed of my inbox.

How do I enable this though? What about security?

Thanks

Just add a new folder. Then check the 'Subscribe to RSS/ATOM feed' box and you can enter the feed URL. All the feeds are proxied through the server and get stored as messages in your new folder.

Oh, I meant getting an RSS feed of my zimbra inbox out elsewhere... not the other way around. Then I dont have to login to outlook or zimbra to check if there's new mail.

On that note, my notification on new e-mail option is not working. I checked it, but when a new email arrives in the inbox, no notification is sent out. Where can I check what's happening?

Lot's of feed options here:

Try /opt/zimbra/log/zimbra.log to look for log info.

Thanks,

I read that, but I cant get it to work. Will Zimbra export an RSS feed of my inbox? But that doesnt make sense, since it's insecure... so I must enable it somewhere, and maybe have an ip lock or some other mechanism to secure the feed to my bloglines.

http://server/zimbra/home/schemers/inbox.rss is the rss feed, so I guess mine should be http://<mydomain.com>/zimbra/home/murtada/inbox.rss ?

It's password portected just like Zimbra. You'll be prompted for basic auth. That URL looks right.

That link you posted above should be fine, RSS feeds work from my inbox to my RSS aggregator. There's nothing to do other than point your aggregator to the Zimbra link, supply the authorisation parameters and away you (should) go. Does you aggregator allow you to specify that a source needs authorisation and enter the details in that?

Try entering the rss link to your inbox in a browser and you should get an authorisation request (in IE) and it'll probably fail when you enter the auth details, in FF it'll tellyou it's an rdf feed.

One final question- thought people here would know best.

Since the inbox.rss feed is password protected, I can't read it from bloglines or google reader etc. even with http://login@pass:domain/service/home/account/inbox.rss

what do you guys use?
