Default wrong port number in mailboxd/webapps/zimbra/WEB-INF/web.xml

    Hello,
I installed another test setup with Release 5.0.4_GA_2101 and wanted to use https for web mail logins.
I switched to the zimbra user and ran zmtlsctl https and then stopped and started zmcontrol. Afterwords I was unable to reach the login pages over https even though I was previously able to reach them via http. I looked at web.xml and in both places I know it's at the wrong port number is in there. It says 43, and it should be 443.

In my other test setup, Release 5.02_GA_1975 it says 443 in web.xml and it works fine.

So I manually changed the port number to read 443, however after I started and stopped zmcontrol my changes were overwritten.

How can I make this change permanent, and why do I have a 43 in one version of zimbra and 443 in another?

Are you using the proxy? (There was Bug 26231 - bad default https port 43 if proxy is enabled. as outlined in my announcement: 5.0.4 is live!)

    Try:
    su - zimbra
    zmprov ms server.domain.com zimbraMailSSLPort 443
    zmcontrol stop
    zmcontrol start

I thought there might have been a bug. I will try that out. Thanks for your help.
