Default Multiple alias with one account: Change Sent from address possible?

Hi,

For an individual email account which has two or more aliases associated with a domain name, is it possible to change the sent from address to any of the aliases associated with that domain? Or am I stuck with sending from just the original alias the account was set up with?

In other words, I set up an email account with address info@mydomain.com, and a few weeks later I added a new alias for that account, so that anyone can also send an email to sales@mydomain.com (as well as the original info@mydomain.com).

When I reply to any sales@mydomain.com that was sent to me, can I set the send from address as sales@mydomain.com? Or is unchangeable and sent from the original info@mydomain.com?

Also, is it possible to compose an original message and choose the sent from address as either info@mydomain.com or sales@mydomain.com?

To be more specific, I read this thread from 2 years ago, and it said then that there were plans in the works to enable zimbra to be able to pick any email alias to send from (I use the web based gui).

Is this still in the works, and if so any idea when it will be available?

Or, is Zimbra now capable of this and I just can't find it?

Yes, it's been implimented, in the web client, click Preferences and then Accounts, in there you can configure additional settings.

I have mine so if I reply to a message sent to me, I reply from my own account. If I reply to a message sent to the IT distribution group, then I reply 'from' that group and the signature changes too. Once set up, this is all automatic.

In the Admin UI make sure the COS or user pref allows you to "Allow sending email from any address"

If you don't allow sending from any address you may still set the reply to field to anything you desire. This will cause users who just hit the reply button to have whatever you enter get put in.
