Hello Everyone,
I have three different questions but first here is what I have,Fedora Core 7 with a fresh install of Zimbra 5.2.

1. Can I setup an additional spam filter training account from the admin page?

2. What happends if a user forwards a junk email to the default spam filter training account? Does that help the spam filter learn faster?

3. I have about 50 emails a day that are not being caught by the spam filter, most of them are in another lanaguage or the pill adds what can I do to stop those types of emails?

You don't need another training account.

That's a waste fo time, any mail sent to the Junk folder will already have a copy sent to the spam training account.

Where do these emails end-up, in the Junk folder or the user's inbox?

They end up in the users inbox.

The user should highlight the spam email and then hit the Junk button, that will train the spam filetrs to recognise them in future. The user may need to do that on several messages but it will get trained. Have you made any changes to the tag/kill percentages in Zimbra and, if so, what are they?

No changes done to the tag/kill.

Change the Kill/Tag setting (you'll find it in the Admin UI Global Settings AS/AV tab) to 66/25 respectively and keep an eye on messages that get into the Junk folder to ensure you don't get any false positives. Monitor that for a few day and see what happens.

For instance, changing the /opt/zimbra/conf/zmmta.cf smtpd_reject_unlisted_recipients line to 'yes' helps a bunch in terms of cutting down emails to addresses you don't even have.

This isn't a bad idea, except it doesn't work for users who are using outlook, thunderbird, or some non-Zimbra mail client. Back to the original question of "How do I tell Zimbra something is spam when I'm not using the web interface?"

Forward a copy of the spam/junk (as an attachment) to spamAccount@domain.com

Thanks for the link to the bug. I'll use my spam-training account for now and call it good!
