Default [SOLVED] pop3 -- Cannot login

    Hello,
Our server is Fedora core 7 and Zimbra 5.3 fresh install. We can access our email with no problem over the world wide web but we cannot access our email using pop3 connection.

I went into the admin side and verified that pop3 access is allowed for the user and still no luck. I keep getting an authentication window but not able to authenticate. Zimbra desktop works just works also, but again pop3 and Imap will not work and I'm totally stumped. Any suggestions as to what could be the problem?

Start by posting the output of:
    su - zimbra
zmprov gs server.domain.com | grep Pop
zmprov gs server.domain.com | grep Imap
What POP3/IMAP thick-client are you attempting to use?

zmprov gs server.domain.com | grep Pop:

    zimbraPop3BindOnStartup: TRUE
    zimbraPop3BindPort: 7110
    zimbraPop3CleartextLoginEnabled: FALSE
    zimbraPop3NumThreads: 100
    zimbraPop3ProxyBindPort: 110
    zimbraPop3SSLBindOnStartup: TRUE
    zimbraPop3SSLBindPort: 7995
    zimbraPop3SSLProxyBindPort: 995
    zimbraPop3SSLServerEnabled: TRUE
    zimbraPop3SaslGssapiEnabled: FALSE
    zimbraPop3ServerEnabled: TRUE

Trying to use Microsoft Mail and Microsoft Outlook Express, not really concerned with IMAP, just need to resolve POP. Thanks for your help

Use the following command (it's all on one line) to reset the ports:

    Code:
    zmprov -l ms server.domain.com zimbraPop3BindPort 110 zimbraPop3SSLBindPort 995 zimbraPop3ProxyBindPort 7110 zimbraPop3SSLProxyBindPort 7995 zimbraImapBindPort 143 zimbraImapSSLBindPort 993 zimbraImapProxyBindPort 7143 zimbraImapSSLProxyBindPort 7993
then restart zimbra and try again.
    Regards

    Bill

Thanks to both of you! That solved the problem!

I must agree Zimbra 5.2 was well worth the upgrade. We were using Zimbra 4.10 and boy what a world of difference in 5.2!

    Nice job everyone!
