Default large mail attachments cause zimbra to crash, briefcase won't accept them either

Hey all,

I didn't find anyone posting about this, so I'm guessing no one is attaching large attachments? For me, at least, I'm using the latest Zimbra stable under Ubuntu LTS.

If I set:

zmprov mcf zimbraFileUploadMaxSize 1024000000
zmprov mcf zimbraMtaMaxMessageSize 1024000000

then attaching files greater than about 200MB causes Zimbra to crash. A restart is required before people can connect to the imap server again.

As for the briefcase, it just won't take the attachment. No error message, it just doesn't attach.

Any ideas? I guess I should open a bug report?

Try setting it to zero

What kind of attachment is it? Can you grab your logs from the crash?

Ok, I've just come out of a long, busy period. Sorry for the delays here.

Anyhow, I've just retested this issue. It still exists. I would think that with briefcase existing, it would be normal for people to have large attachments. Certainly, larger than one would have with traditional email.

I can verify this here. I am opening a bug report on this issue now.

Thanks
