    Default Reverse Proxy

Anyone use Fastream IQRP with Zimbra? If so, any advantages/drawbacks. My Windows friends say it rocks, but I don't have any experience with this particular piece of software.

If you felt that a proxy would really benefit your performance, you should look at squid. It has reverse proxy as well. Personally, I wouldn't see the need unless your Zimbra server's load is extremely high or something. Then again, ours here is well under-utilized and internal on a gigE network, so I don't have many speed issues.

Using a "proxy" with Zimbra is a bad idea (and useless when using https).

However, a "reverse proxy" can be nice if you need to host several daemons/websites on the same server and/or if you want to put it in DMZ while your Zimbra server lies on the LAN.

I'm not sure there's any interest in buying a "blackbox" (IQRP is closed source) to do the same thing that apache can do (see wiki).

And if we're talking about a reverse proxy in the DMZ, Zimbra-proxy will soon be able to do it.

That is exactly what we will be trying.

Apache does it very well (for free), even with SSL.

zimbra-proxy should do it in 5.0.3.
