Are you using the Outlook Connector, or are you trying to connect to the Open Source version?

The Outlook Connector is not open source. You can read about it here. It's only available with the Network Edition.

Connecting using Outlook and only open-source links (IMAP, ICAL, etc) is more difficult than using many other clients, from what I have heard. I have not tried Outlook as anything but a POP client myself.
