How to stop Zimbra sending out meeting invite emails? I've set up a Zimbra 5 installation to allow shared calendaring on my team. Other areas of our company use Exchange, or just iCal without a server.
I'm using Leopard iCal as my primary interface to the Zimbra calendar. Overall it's working well, but there's a huge problem: if I paste a .ics meeting invite into the Zimbra calendar, the Zimbra server fires off invite emails to everyone on the invite (which is typically not my meeting).
Since most of the company is on other calendaring systems, most meeting invites come in as email attachments. And, since Leopard iCal has this weird bug/limitation where it won't let you add meeting invites to a server-based calendar, the only way for me to add meetings to the Zimbra calendar is to add them to a local calendar first, then paste them into the Zimbra one. So basically, unless I go in and remove all the attendees, every time I try to add a meeting to my calendar I send email to everyone else in the meeting.
Is there any way to avoid this? Ideally, can I control whether attendees on a meeting I add receive invites? |
