Default IMAP Doesn't Start on Zimbra Start

We are running 5.0.2, and since we've been running Zimbra (since 5.0RC2), we have had more problems with IMAP/POP more than anything else.

We had issues with the LDAP server that prevented IMAP from starting, the memcached port wasn't set correctly.

Now, when we start Zimbra, everything starts, except IMAP. We have to manually start it using

    HTML Code:
    su zimbra
    zmproxyctl start
Once that's done, everything's running. IMAP and POP3 are enabled in the GUI, is there a way to use zmprov to make sure it's supposed to start?

Why are you using the proxy? It's not required for a single server install, is that what you've got or is it multi-server?

I'm under the impression that you use zmproxyctl to start IMAP and POP3. Is that wrong?

Yes, that's wrong. If you have enabled pop3 & IMAP in the Admin UI then they are available for your users to connect, that's all you need do.

I was using the information in this post

    zmperditionctl start asking for password

It clearly states that to restart ngnix, you use the zmproxyctl command. If this isn't true, why does our port 143 and 110 refuse connections when Zimbra is started, but after running "zmproxyctl start" port 143 and 110 accept connections?...

Stop the proxy using zmproxyctl stop then run the following command (all on one line):

    Code:
    zmprov -l ms server.domain.com zimbraPop3BindPort 110 zimbraPop3SSLBindPort 995 zimbraPop3ProxyBindPort 7110 zimbraPop3SSLProxyBindPort 7995 zimbraImapBindPort 143 zimbraImapSSLBindPort 993 zimbraImapProxyBindPort 7143 zimbraImapSSLProxyBindPort 7993
then restart Zimbra and you should be able to connect to POP3 and IMAP.
    Regards
