A user sent me this:

"I updated a contact in the system [his personal contacts]. It shows ONLY as the updated one in my address book, but when I go to send an e-mail and punch in his first two letters BOTH still show."

I was able to verify his observation.
We use version 5.01

Is there any remnants in his 'Emailed Contacts' folder?

There is a new contact cleaner zimlet he might try out (you'll have to install it - it's in your /opt/zimbra/zimlets-extra folder).

Thanks, Mike. I installed the contact cleaner zimlet per your suggestion.
When I read your response for the first time (yesterday) and checked the user's emailed contacts folder the defunct contact was gone (he was advised by the department director here to check the emailed contact folder).
Is there a transparent removal of deleted contacts from the entire system (after an amount of time or when a specific cache is purged?)

The coolest thing ever is indeed cool; however the computer department directer (though no enemy of open source or linux) insists on IE for various reasons. I am the firefox rebel here.
