Thats what I need, too. I'm walking around the table waiting for the dev build... ;-)

Please post an announce in this thread, that would be helpful -- people writing here will then get an email, if they have email notification enabled in their account settings.

Thanks a lot

I'll try to remember, but your best be is to subscribe on Freshmeat. That's the one place we aways announce to and has a good notification system.

Any news on this? The lack of a shared address book is really a show stopper. I hope the sync connectors will be integrated as well.

Next major version will have shared contacts in the web ui. Unclear if it will be in the various connectors by then as well. If not that will follow in a future release.

Is there a schedule or roadmap for the next major release?

The schedule is late summer. The list of features you can glean from bugzilla target's/milestone's. We've not published a feature list until we've locked the content of the release.

Default Please make this work!

Man, let me know if you make the shared contacts work. End of the summer? Ugh! I gotta move email providers now and it would be the perfect time to make a complete transition to a groupware...

Shared contact lists are the ONLY thing that is holding us up from moving to Zimbra. We absolutely need to have some sort of shared environment for our major business contacts, so that we can put maintenance in one place...OP is right shared contacts are everything in collaboration suites...

I voted for this in Bugzilla.

BTW--I would really encourage you to make the shared contacts work via the isync connectors too, and not just the web interface. In our case, I need to be able to print shipping labels to laser printers. The web app can't easily accommodate these templates, whereas the functionality is already built into addressbook. And, as we are looking at a hosted solution when we get started to zimbra, the idea of having everything synced locally offers us great peace of mind...

So please please please get this up and running! I'll go out and buy a big license!

Default shared contacts autocompleting

just tried to send a email to the a contact stored in a shared addressbook. there is no autocompleting for contact in the shared addressbook. is this by design ?

Thanks Holger

It's more by circumstance than design currently. On startup, we load a user's address book, but not shared address books. Autocomplete goes against the loaded address book (and GAL if configured).

Feel free to make an enhancement request. Of course, to do it we'd have to load shared address books, which could get expensive.

It *could* get expensive, but for SMB customers, a couple hundred contacts doesn't hurt anything.

I now have two zcs installations. one with ~75 users, and one with ~10 users. Both scenarios would benefit from this and it certainly wouldn't affect performance.

Of course this ought to be a configurable option that is disabled by default...
