Default Upgrading v4.0.4

Ok. Upgrading scares the hell outta me. I know that I should upgrade to at least 4.5, but I'm worried about problems.

As with any upgrade, there are ALWAYS issues. I have ZCS 4.0.4 running on one server so there is not a possibility of doing a trial run. Should I just build a new server, install 4.5 or 5.0 from scratch and migrate from the old one or is upgrading a viable option? If I do an in-place upgrade, what should I look for. If I migrate, what pitfalls should I be aware of.

Looking for opinions here.

I know this is kinda open ended, but I really just want to get some opinions.

Thanks!!

Upgrading is an option, yes you will have to go through 4.5.x to get to 5.0.x

(plenty of other methods of course, disk images etc work fine too)
