Improve Forum Search Capabilities

There are many times I need to search for a string in the forums, my last attempt was "on behalf of". I know there is a post with that string but the search doesn't find it. I think the quotes are being searched for literally. I can't find a way to search for a string and it makes it really hard to find posts resulting in me placing a new and possibly duplicate question.

I'm searching about an empty "from" field where mail is stored as being sent from a different address so I get "on behalf of...". If I enter "from" (without the quotes) the search fails with "from" is tool common blah blah. This is maddening.

Can this be done?
