Default [SOLVED] Firefox 3 Beta 3 won't login

    Hi,

I'm testing FF 3 Beta 3 and on both windows and OS X, it appears to login, and then just after the inbox is displayed, it reverts back to the login screen. I tried both the AJAX and HTML client with same results. Server is ZCS 5.0.2 NE. No errors in /var/log/zimbra.log

    Anybody else seeing this?

Default Firefox 3 beta 4 and Safari 3 won't login either

This is really strange. I have 2 different zimbra servers, one with a self-signed certificate and one with a regular commercial certificate and both do the exact same thing. It logs in, and just as soon as the inbox appears (and it is current because I can see new emails), it pops right back to the login page.

I tried the zimbra demo and that worked fine, so I'm left guessing what setting I have that is different. The only thing I can guess is that I have zmtlsctl set to mixed. Demo looks like it is http only so I can't test it with SSL.

    Anybody else seeing this?

I tried changing the login mode for my commercial SSL Cert ZCS 5.0.2 NE server to http only and then to https only, and got the same bad result with both.

Any suggestions on how to debug this? Firebug doesn't work in FF3. Nothing in /opt/zimbra/mailbox.log

fwiw I've been using ff3b3 for a while, no issues here.

Are you using any addons that may conflict?

Edit: Btw I was using http for a while and recently changed it to https only. Both worked fine.

No addons. All my FF2 addons are not yet compatible with FF3. Not to mention that the same problem happens in Safari 3. Does it work for you in Safari 3 also? :-(

I'm playing with Live HTTP Headers and hacked the maxVersion so it runs in FF3, and will post attachments of the HTTP Header exchange between FF2 and the ZCS 5.0.2 server and FF3 and the ZCS 5.0.2 server. Found some interesting results.

Question Here are HTTP Headers for login w/FF2 and FF3

Ok, I've attached a sanitized log of the HTTP Headers between FF2 and ZCS 5.0.2 and FF3 and ZCS 5.0.2. Not sure what to make of this, but the FF3 login headers diverge from the FF2 login headers right after the request for http://zimbra.mydomain.com/zimbra/

Basically, FF3 starts asking for CSS individually rather than the all_gzipped version (line 50 of attached):
    http://zimbra.mydomain.com/zimbra/re...5023&skin=sand

While FF2 first asks for Zimlets, and in the all_gzipped format (line 50 of attached):
    http://zimbra.mydomain.com/service/z...dev_all.js.zgz

Then FF3 asks for the Zimlets while FF2 asks for CSS which again is requested individually rather than all_gzipped (line 95 of attached):
    http://zimbra.mydomain.com/zimbra/re...5023&skin=sand

Then FF2 asks for CSS, but it asks for the all_gzipped version (as it should) Line 74 of attached:
    http://zimbra.mydomain.com/service/z...-nodev_all.css

After this, FF2 starts in with some SOAP requests and does what it should.

    Meanwhile, FF3 then requests:
    http://zimbra.mydomain.com/zimbra/js...v=080130205023

This is followed by several confused and repeated requests that ultimately end in:
    http://zimbra.mydomain.com/zimbra/?loginOp=logout

Which is consistent with what I'm seeing.

Can anyone help interpret why/where this is going wrong and what may be happening here?

    Thanks!
    John

Odd, I haven't had any issues with ff3b2, b3, or b4. I'm also running in Linux, tho. And yes I miss all my addons

And I'm running SSL (redirect mode)

Just wanted to report that I've tried FF3-B3 under Windows XP and it seems to be working fine for me. Our Zimbra server is in mixed mode; I've tried logging in both in http and https mode and both worked fine. I'm not using it regularly; I'm typically using FF2 under Linux. But in my testing on Windows I'm not seeing anything like the described issues.

Sorry, I wish I could have provided some information to solve the problem, but I just wanted to report another success.

I found that there are some ZCS 5.0.2 servers that I *can* login to, so nothing with my browser. There is something specific on my servers that is causing this. In thinking about my servers, the only thing that I can think that is different between servers that work and servers that don't work is that the servers that won't let me login were all originally either 4.0 or 4.5.0 installs. The one that worked was originally installed with 4.5.9 or 4.5.10. So perhaps something going on there?

I've opened a bug to track this.

    Bug 25893 - FF3 and Safari 3 won't login to ZCS 5.0.2

    Hi John,
Sorry you're having trouble. Can you please perform the following:

    su - zimbra
    zmcontrol stop
    rm -rf /opt/zimbra/jetty/work/*
    zmcontrol start
