zimbra 5.0.2 OSS dead? help please

Hi,

I don't know how to describe whats going on.
imap does a bit and then fails with "ssl connection error" and the web interface is broken - see attachment.

any ideas?

BTW: haven't changed anything (really nothing has changed)

Have you rebooted your server, cleared the browser cache and reloaded the login screen? Have there been any updates to your o/s (which o/s is it running on)?

Hi,

sorry for not including the tech facs .... to busy to get it up and running again.

1st thing - restart zimbra fixed it - server is up again.

2nd thing - tech specs:

ZCS 5.0.2 OSS on Ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS
last thing I did: update 5.0.1 to 5.0.2 on the day 5.0.2 was released - no changes at all since then (not even logged on to web admin or shell).
Symptoms: IMAP stopped working while fetching mails, restarted email client (apple mail) IMAP started, logged in, started fetching mails and failed. I logged on to the WebGui (which was working 4h ago) and had this strange page.

I had no time to check the logs so far

The web page is symptomatic of a browser problem, I've seen it myself a couple of times. Check the logs and see if anything jumps out at you.

I am more worried about the dead IMAP....

which log would you start with?

I found a stacktrace from when the server crashed and it's about IMAPssl....

You'll find the log info in /opt/zimbra/log/mailbox.log

mailbox.log is error free - only the stacktrace - as far as I can see atm

zmcontrol stop
cd /opt/zimbra/libexec/
zmfixperms
rm -rf /opt/zimbra/jetty/work/*
zmcontrol start

Let's see if that fixes it. It's an issue with the tag libs.

We used to throw a stack trace every time it crashed. Now when it shuts down, we give a thread dump.

Can you post the three valuable logs:
/opt/zimbra/log/mailbox.log
/opt/zimbra/log/zmmailboxd.out
/var/log/zimbra.log
