    Try
    Code:
    sudo /bin/bash /home/useraccount/zmbak.sh -f > /tmp/zim_backup.log 2>&1
When it is done, you will have /tmp/zim_backup.log to check for any errors.

Here is the output of the log file. Im not noticing any errors.

Just to confirm, this script should be backing up all items in the fakebackup directory correct?

Well, it should be backing up all items in /opt/zimbra to your SYNC_DIR directory, which you have apparently set to /media/disk2/swap/zimbraswap/. The store and db/data directories have no read access except for root and zimbra users. Did you, at least once, run the script as a non-root user with the original SYNC_DIR setting? That would put the files in /tmp/fakebackup, but skip store and db/data files because that user had no read permissions. I believe the answer you seek is in /media/disk2/swap/zimbraswap/.

That is why I am confused. The data is sync in full to the SYNC_DIR including the store and db. The problem occurs when DAR process of the script starts.

I did try again using the default SYNC_DIR with root account with the same results

Ugh. I should learn to read. Are you looking at the contents of the dar file as root?

Skip that. I can see the files as a regular user. Is the command you are using to examine the dar something like:
    Code:
    dar -l 12_Zimbra_Backup_23-March-2012_FULL

I have examined the file with the same command. I have also expanded the file, and I have examind the log that is created after the backup. All reveal the store and db directories are not being backed up.

Well, you've done the logical things. You could try to create a dar manually on your SYNC_DIR, as root. The only thing that fits is that dar is not being run as root, but that doesn't make sense either.

After some troubleshooting I discovered the /store directory is being passed up by dar because it is a symlink. I currently have the store directory symlinked to a larger disk on the server.

Mysql and other directories are symlinked as well but to other directories under /opt/zimbra.

I was under the impression mysql was not being backed up but it was because it was symlinked to mysql-standard-5.1.55-pc-linux-gnu-i686-glibc23.

But back to the issue with /store which is truly symlinked outside of /opt/zimbra in my environment. I am looking to the DAR documentation for a solution and apparently DAR should be able to handle and symlinks based on this exerpt from the DAR's features section:
(Yes, you can hard link symbolic links! Thanks to Wesley Leggette for the info ;-)
Any ideas how to make DAR recognize symlinks?
